How does Urban Ethos subscriptions work?

It’s simple! First, pick which product you’d like to purchase. Then, choose how often you’d like the item to be delivered to you. You can select delivery for every 1-6 months.

Finally, enter your shipping and billing information, and you’re all set. If something changes, don’t worry. You can cancel, pause, or skip your delivery in your account at any time. Just log into your account via urbanethos.co to make any adjustments.

 

If I sign up for an Urban Ethos subscription, will it renew automatically?

Yes, your subscription will renew automatically every 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 months depending on the frequency you selected during your initial purchase. If you want to modify, change the date of your next order, skip your next order, or cancel your subscription, log into your account on our website. Once you’re logged in, click on ‘My Subscriptions’ and select the subscription you’d like to update.

 

How do I access my subscription settings?

You will need to log in to your account by clicking ‘Log In’ using the mobile menu or the top right of your screen if you’re using a computer. If you do not have an account, you will need to sign up for one using the same e-mail address you used to purchase your subscription. Once you’ve logged in, select ‘My Subscriptions’. If you have multiple subscriptions, choose which one you’d like to manage and select ‘Manage Subscriptions.’

 

How do I make changes to my Urban Ethos subscription?

To make any changes to your subscription, log into your account on our website and select ‘My Subscriptions’. Select the subscription you’d like to adjust and select Manage Subscription. You can then:

ADD A PRODUCT: The Subscription page will present items that you can “Add One-Time” for an additional charge. Note: you cannot remove any of the fixed items included in your subscription. 


CHANGE FREQUENCY: Under Subscription Settings, click “Subscription Frequency” to manage how frequently you’d like to receive your products. Options include every 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 months.


CHANGE SHIPPING DATE: Under Subscription Settings, click the box that says “Next box ships on”. A calendar will pop up for you to select the date you’d like to your next shipment to ship out. Once you’ve selected your desired shipping date, click “Update Shipping Date”. 


CHANGE QUANTITY: Under Subscription Settings, click on any of the items included in your subscription that you’d like to adjust. When the pop up box appears, use the +/- buttons to change the quantity of products to include in your next order for an additional charge. Once you’re done editing, click “Save Product”. Note that subscription product bundle quantities are fixed, so any additional products are charged in addition to the subscription cost. Also, please note that any product included in the subscription bundle cannot be excluded from or exchanged for another product in your reoccurring orders.

 
SKIP SUBSCRIPTION: Under Subscription Settings, there is the option to “Skip Next Order”. If you select this option, you will not receive your next scheduled order. To successfully skip your next order, please be sure to select this option before 11:59 PM the day before the order is scheduled to ship.


PAUSE SUBSCRIPTION: Under Subscription Settings, there is the option to “Pause Subscription”. If you select this option, all subscription orders will be paused until you unpause your subscription. To successfully pause your subscription, please be sure to select this option before 11:59 PM the day before the order is scheduled to ship if you don’t wish to receive your next order. To unpause your subscription, click “Unpause Subscription”. 


CANCEL SUBSCRIPTION: Under Subscription Settings, there is the option to “Cancel Subscription” at the bottom of the page. By selecting this option, you will effectively cancel all subscription orders.

    Please note that orders are processed on the day of the month that you began your subscription. To effectively cancel your subscription, those changes need to be made by 12 PM AEST the day before the order is processed. You can find this date in your account under “Subscription”.     How do I update my billing address, shipping address, or credit card information for my subscription?

    Scroll down to the ‘More Settings’ section of the associated subscription you selected. To edit any of this information, click on the information that needs to be updated and a box will appear on the right hand side of the page. After the information is input as needed, click either 'Save Address' or 'Update Card.'

     

    Will I be charged for cancelling my Urban Ethos subscription?

    NO! You can cancel your subscription free of charge. Orders are processed on the day of the month that you began your subscription. To cancel your subscription, those changes need to be made by 12 PM AEST the day before the order is processed. To cancel your subscription, log into your account on our website and click ‘My Subscriptions’ and select the subscription you’d like to update.     I won't be needing Urban Ethos products for a while. How do I put my subscription on hold?

    You certainly can pause your Urban Ethos subscription. To do so, sign into your account on our website and click on ‘My Subscriptions’. Select the subscription you want to adjust, select Frequency and choose ‘Pause’ to put your subscription on hold. You will not be charged for any products while your subscription is on hold. You can also choose to skip your next order by selecting 'Skip Order' under Subscription Settings. 

     

    Do I have to sign up for an Urban Ethos subscription?

    We get that subscriptions aren't for everyone. That's why we offer a buy now, one time purchase option on every product. The benefit of a subscription is a 10% discount on your initial order and every order after that. And you never need to remember to re-order!

     

    When is my card charged?

    For all Urban Ethos orders, your card will be charged when the order is processed. Subscriptions are processed on the day that they’re scheduled to ship. You can view your next scheduled shipping date in your account under 'Subscription' in the box that says 'Next box ships on.' 

     

    Will I get a reminder email before my next shipment?

    Yes, you will receive a reminder email 3 days before your subscription order is processed and shipped.

     

    What do I do if I need more Urban Ethos products before my next subscription?

    If you need any (or all!) of your products before your next order, log in to your Urban Ethos account. When you go to Subscription Settings, you’ll find items that you can “Add One-Time” for an additional charge. Once you add those to your cart, you will be given the option to “Ship Now” to receive your products before your next subscription order. This will not affect the date of your next subscription order.

    Works well with most septic tanks: Bamboo toilet paper is unlike traditional toilet paper (and even recycled toilet paper) which tends to clog pipes and septic systems. Traditional toilet paper causes such trouble because it often does not fully break down. Bamboo toilet paper on the other hand is 100% biodegradable which leaves plumbing working well.

    Why is Bamper made in China?

     

    When launching Bamper, the team looked at all viable manufacturing options and it was important to find a solution with the lowest possible environmental impact.

     

    Below are the reasons why we ended up manufacturing Bamper in China:

     

    • Firstly, bamboo is not harvested in Australia to produce paper pulp in commercial quantities, therefore, we needed to look outside Australia to find a suitable production source.
    • Our manufacturing partners grow and manage their own bamboo forests which don’t disrupt any native habitats. They process their own paper pulp and manufacture the finished goods all in the same location. They do not rely on importing any raw material from other countries or locations, therefore keeping their carbon footprint as low as possible.
    • We wanted our packaging to be plastic-free, our products to have no chemicals or artificial scents or dyes, and our manufacturing partner was very pleased to accommodate all our un-compromising environmentally responsible requirements.

     

    The above factors allow us to have the lowest environmental impact and continue to have a positive effect on our planet, whilst delivering a quality product that is affordable and great to use.

     

    What about working conditions?

     

    Our manufacturing partner also meets many globally recognised certification standards, meaning they are independently audited. This includes all elements of their business: workers’ rights, freedom of association and collective bargaining, no discrimination, no child labour, no precarious employment, no bonded labour, and overall ethical business behaviours.

     

    It’s important to our team and company ethics that each of our manufacturing partners across the world share the same vision – positive environmental impacts, integrity and operating with high moral standards.

    What about the environmental impact of shipping products from overseas?

    The production of toilet paper makes up most of the carbon footprint and the best action is to make the switch to Bamboo toilet paper (and tissues). We only transport our Bamper products by sea freight from the factory to our warehouse in Melbourne, as this is the most economical use of resources with the lowest possible carbon footprint.

     

    Every day, 27,000 trees are cut down just to make regular toilet paper, and 140 litres of water is used per roll. Numerous chemicals are involved in the manufacturing process, including chlorine bleach to whiten the paper and artificial scents to add fragrance into the paper. We believe making toilet paper from 100% bamboo is the best environmentally positive swap for regular toilet paper. ZERO trees are affected, and you might be surprised to learn that bamboo is a grass, not a tree - it grows incredibly quickly, requires no chemical fertilisers and no harmful farming practices making it a sustainable source for toilet paper.
