Behind the Product ‘SugarWrap’: How One Net Zero Factory Is Helping Us Stay True to Our Mission

October 7, 2025Urban Ethos

From day one at Urban Ethos, we’ve built our business around a simple but powerful idea: supporting a more sustainable lifestyle in the places it matters most — your everyday routines. That meant being intentional about every part of the process, especially when it came to choosing who would manufacture our goods.

One of our early and most important decisions was partnering with a net zero factory to produce one of our key product ranges ‘SugarWrap’. This wasn’t just about checking a sustainability box — it was about aligning our operations with our values from the ground up.

What Is a Net Zero Factory?

A net zero factory is a facility that balances out all the carbon emissions it produces. That means any emissions generated during manufacturing are either avoided altogether (through clean energy and efficiency) or offset through verified environmental initiatives.

Why It Matters

When you buy a product, it’s easy to focus on what’s in front of you — how it looks, feels, or the materials it is made from. But what you don’t always see is the behind-the-scenes work that goes into manufacturing that product in a way that truly supports sustainability.

This is just one example of how we’re doing that work.

Every time we choose a partner that shares our vision, and every time you choose to support us, we move one step closer to a more sustainable future — together.

Staying Accountable to Our Mission

Sustainability isn't something we decided to “add on” later. It’s been part of our foundation from the very beginning. Working with this net zero factory is just one of the ways we’re staying accountable to that mission — and continually pushing to do better.

Every time we choose a partner that shares our vision, and every time you choose to shop with us, we get one step closer to a more sustainable future.
